JOURNAL DURING EID’ HOLIDAY
I’m doing nothing during the first week holiday. I didn’t study at all whether English or my main course. Even for fasting, I didn’t prepare anything. For breaking fast, my mum bought all cooked food and for “sahur” we just ate the simple dish. My mum already prepares all the things because there only me, my brother and my parents at home. My job just looks after my niece, Sofea. She seems to be afraid of me because maybe she didn’t see me for a long time. But I really miss her because I already look after her since she was a few days. However, for the last day of fasting, whole my family including my brothers, my sisters, my brothers in law, my sisters in law, my nephews and my nieces. Only a few of my siblings that didn’t arrive at home yet as they went to their mother in law’s house first. We cooked and ate together for that day.
I spent around RM200 from my pocket money on “kuih raya”. This was my first time to handle all the preparation for Eid. Usually my sister will handle all this thing but this year I need to prepare all as I’m the only daughter that haven’t married yet. For this year also, we doesn’t have the chance to eat the “rendang” cooked by my third sister as she passed away last November. Usually she will cook “rendang” and “soto” every year. This year also, we only celebrate the Eid as simple as can. We only gather our whole family as previously year. Only on third day of Eid, we went to Perak for my brother’s engagement on 4th day of Eid. We went there by using 8 cars. Although there were so many things that happen before, I really satisfied because we could spend our time on Eid happily this year.
